Study in France from Albania: visa, fees and funding

Albania is not an EU member state, so Albanian students need a long-stay student visa for France, and the country is not covered by the Études en France platform: applications go directly to the French institutions before the visa request. Public universities charge differentiated fees to non-EU newcomers, 2,902 euros a year in licence and 3,950 euros in master for 2026-2027, against 178 and 255 euros at the national rate, with exemptions possible and doctorates billed at 398 euros plus the 105-euro CVEC contribution. The French Embassy in Albania awards France Excellence scholarships for master and doctorate studies, and the Alliance Française in Tirana, which hosts the local Campus France office, publishes a guide on financing studies in France. Erasmus+ also funds study periods and placements in France for Albanian students as part of the Western Balkans cooperation.
