Study in France from Australia: visa, fees and funding

Australia is not on the Études en France list, so Australian students apply directly to the French institutions of their choice and then request the long-stay student visa, mandatory for non-EU nationals. Public universities charge differentiated fees to non-EU students: 2,902 euros a year in licence and 3,950 euros in master for 2026-2027, with exemptions possible, while doctorates are billed at 398 euros plus the 105-euro CVEC contribution. Australian students enrolled at home can access the OS-HELP loan from the Australian Government to study part of their course overseas, and the Embassy of France in Australia runs the French+ scholarship for short programmes. Campus France Australia publishes funding and visa guides for the French side.
