Study in France from the UK: visa, fees and how to apply
Since Brexit, UK nationals are non-EU applicants: you register on the Études en France platform handled by Campus France UK and complete your long-stay student visa through it, even if you apply directly to a French school. UK qualifications such as A-levels and university degrees are generally recognised, and English language tests are not required if you studied in the UK. Public universities charge differentiated fees to non-EU students, 2,902 euros a year in licence and 3,950 euros in master for 2026-2027 against 178 and 255 euros at the national rate, unless a capped exemption is granted; doctorates pay the national rate. The Turing Scheme supports UK students taking study and work placements abroad, covering travel and contributing to living costs, and Campus France UK advisers answer questions at each step. Many French institutions also teach full degrees in English.
