Study in France from India: procedure, visa, Charpak

India is on the list of 75 countries and territories covered by the Etudes en France procedure, so candidates apply through Campus France India and complete the pre-consular steps on the platform before the visa request. The long-stay student visa is a VLS-TS, issued for four months to one year and validated online shortly after arrival. Non-EU first-time entrants pay differentiated registration fees of 2,902 euros at licence level and 3,950 euros at master level for 2026-2027, unless an exemption applies, while the national rates are 178 and 255 euros; doctorates pay 398 euros and the CVEC contribution is 105 euros. For funding, the France Excellence Charpak scholarship programme of the French embassy in India supports Indian students, and Campus France India also lists Indian government scholarships for study abroad, including Inlaks and KC Mahindra style programmes. Campus France India publishes French government and institutional scholarship calls throughout the year.
