Study in France from Kenya: procedure, visa and funding

Candidates resident in Kenya use the Etudes en France procedure, with applications handled on the Campus France platform and through the Espace Campus France in Nairobi. After admission, non-EU students need the long-stay VLS-TS student visa, valid as a residence permit and validated online after arrival. Public universities charge differentiated fees to non-EU students, 2,902 euros in licence and 3,950 euros in master for 2026-2027, unless an exemption is granted, while doctorates pay 398 euros. Campus France Kenya lists scholarship programmes, Kenyan students can also look at the Higher Education Loans Board for financing, and Commonwealth Scholarships are open to Kenyan graduates.
