Study in France from Montenegro: visa, fees and funding
Montenegro is not part of the European Union, so Montenegrin students need a long-stay student visa before moving to France. The country is not among the 75 covered by the Études en France procedure, which means candidates apply directly to French higher education institutions and then complete the visa formalities, with guidance from the French Embassy in Podgorica and its page on studying in France. Non-EU students are charged differentiated fees, 2,902 euros in licence and 3,950 in master for 2026-2027 unless exempted, and doctorates pay 398 euros plus the 105-euro CVEC. Erasmus+ is open to Montenegro through its Western Balkans window for credit mobility, and the embassy relays French government scholarship calls such as the Eiffel programme.
