Study in France from Mongolia: visa and application route

Mongolia is not part of the list of 75 countries and territories concerned by the Etudes en France procedure, so students from Ulaanbaatar apply directly to the French institutions they target. Once admitted, they request a long-stay student visa, the VLS-TS, issued for four months to one year and validated online after arrival in France. Non-EU first-time entrants pay differentiated registration fees of 2,902 euros at licence level and 3,950 euros at master level for 2026-2027, unless exempted, against 178 and 255 euros at the national rate; doctorates pay 398 euros and the CVEC contribution is 105 euros. On funding, the France Excellence Eiffel programme of the French government is open to master and doctoral candidates, and the Campus Bourses search engine lists scholarships available to students residing in Mongolia. The French embassy in Ulaanbaatar publishes the practical study and visa information for Mongolian applicants.
