Study in France from New Zealand: visa, fees and grants
New Zealand is not covered by the Études en France procedure, so students apply directly to French institutions before applying for the long-stay student visa required for non-EU nationals. Differentiated registration fees apply to non-EU newcomers: 2,902 euros a year in licence and 3,950 euros in master for 2026-2027, unless an exemption is granted; doctoral candidates pay 398 euros, and the CVEC contribution is 105 euros. Universities New Zealand runs a France-New Zealand University Research Linkage mobility grant supporting postgraduate students travelling to France for summer schools, short programmes and research internships. The French Embassy in New Zealand and the France Diplomatie funding pages list the main scholarship channels, including the Eiffel programme.
