Study in France from Tanzania: direct application and visa
Tanzania is not on the Campus France list of countries covered by the Etudes en France procedure, so candidates apply directly to French institutions, and a first year of licence at a university goes through the prior admission request (DAP) filed with the French embassy's cooperation service. A long-stay VLS-TS student visa is mandatory for non-EU nationals and is validated online after arrival. Public universities charge non-EU students differentiated tuition, 2,902 euros a year in licence and 3,950 euros in master for 2026-2027, unless an exemption is granted, while doctorates pay 398 euros. Funding leads include Commonwealth Scholarships, open to Tanzanian graduates for master's and doctoral study, and the French government scholarships listed by France Diplomatie.
