Study in France from Uganda: direct application and visa

Uganda does not appear on the Campus France list of countries covered by the Etudes en France procedure, so applications go directly to French institutions, with the prior admission request (DAP) filed at the French embassy's cooperation service for a first year of licence. Non-EU students still need the long-stay VLS-TS student visa, validated online after arrival. Public universities apply differentiated tuition to non-EU students, 2,902 euros in licence and 3,950 euros in master for 2026-2027, unless an exemption is granted, while doctorates pay 398 euros. The Ministry of Education and Sports runs a scholarships portal that lists government and bilateral awards, and Commonwealth Scholarships are open to Ugandan graduates.
